Fashion in the Video Call Era

Fashion has taken a turn in the rise of video calls. Being stuck at home has caused me to change how I dress in terms of comfort and where I focus my attention on my outfit. Since we are only seeing the upper half of one another that is my main area of concern when it comes to how I look. This mindset has been reflected on the runway by several brands during Paris fashion week.
I admire the adjustment of the industry to help not only themselves but their customers. I have had a few meetings that I felt my outfits were not up to par solely because they could only see the upper portion of my shirt. Since we cannot see the end of video calls in the near future it would be wise for some people to invest in clothing that is suited for the webcam.
Fashion constantly adapts to how we live our lives and, in some cases, shapes our lives without us knowing it. In the same sense that we want to have a facial covering that matches our style and personality, we don’t want to lose our sense of style when sitting behind a screen.
In addition to this we should be feeling comfortable in our own homes while having to spend hours online. Whether you are choosing to wear sweatpants, pajamas or anything you deem worthy of your comfort, you should feel you have the ability to do so in your own home.
Only focusing on the part of our outfit that is being seen is not something that we should be thinking twice about. We can take note from an icon style that made the dual-purpose look famous, the mullet. Now we are looking beyond business in the front and a party in the back to business on top and comfort on the bottom.
